How was the eBloom question model created?

The question model developed by eBloom is based on Work Motivation Theories. These theories are divided into two main categories: content theories (focused on workers' needs) and process theories (focused on workers' expectations and goals).

In the first category, we used models from Herzberg (Two-Factor Theory), McClelland (Needs Theory), Maslow (Hierarchy of Needs), and Alderfer (ERG Theory).

In the second category, the models used include those of Vroom (Expectancy Theory), Adam (Equity Theory), Locke (Goal-Setting Theory), Bandura (Self-Efficacy Theory), and Ryan & Deci (Self-Determination Theory).

Thanks to these theories, we were able to identify the key topics that need to be addressed with employees in order to measure their motivation, satisfaction, well-being, fulfillment, etc.

From the beginning, our goal was to create a model that is as pragmatic and actionable as possible. The idea was to allow everyone within the organization to easily interpret and understand the results in order to turn them into action, while also offering a model that aligns with the current realities and needs of today’s businesses. We therefore enriched our model with insights from Gallup, Deloitte, AON, and Korn Ferry—more recent and contemporary work that complements the aforementioned theories. This is how we developed our own model centered around the employee experience.

Throughout the development of this model and the questions derived from it, the eBloom team worked closely with HR consultants, HR managers, and top executives to ensure its quality, consistency, and relevance for today’s companies and workers.
